EarthLink is a leading national Internet service provider. At the present time, the corporate office of the company is based in Atlanta. The company was founded in 1994 by Sky Dayton. EarthLink has been servicing more than 5 million customers. The company provides Internet services regardless of access type, speed or location. In 1995, the company introduced EarthLink Software. It was the first open and direct Internet access software in the world. In 2007, the company launched a Freestanding DSL service. This enables consumers receive high-speed Internet access without buying local telephone service from their phone companies.

The same year, Earthlink Internet Service launched the EarthLink Security Center, which provides new security opportunities.
